This product replaced an existing 11,500 BTU that was inadequate for the size of the room. This 8,000 BTU is the proper one for the size of the room I needed it for, where the other on was not-the other one made the room too cold. The noise level is great and I am very happy with this unit performance.

I needed a new through-the wall air conditioner to replace a dead Friedrich unit. I didn't want to spend over $500 for another Friedrich, so I bought the Frigidaire which cost about $150 less. The FAH086S1T is a good unit, and I'm happy with it. It's ENERGY STAR efficient, and does a good job cooling my bedroom. It does seem to take a little more time to cool the room on a very hot day despite being the same BTU as the unit it replaced, but it's not a big difference. It's also a little noisier, but not enough to keep me up at night. It has nice features, including energy saving modes, sleep timer, and a remote. It also comes with a face kit, and extra insulation to mount the AC in larger openings. All in all, it's a good unit for the price.
