I don't like to pay more than I have to only because they are branded with the apple logo.

This adapter only works with some projectors, and even then will briefly flicker out with the message "cannot locate computer". Within a couple of seconds the picture returns. With other projectors, your computer screen will become wildly distorted and useless. Genuine Apple adapters are said to have the same problems. A downloadable fix is apparently available, but you have to be connected to the projector at the time. I travel from school to school doing presentations with a variety of projectors, and this is not always available to me. I suggest that you always set up early when using this in case it fails. Also, have a backup plan. There are dozens of complaints about this on the Apple website, so it is not unique to this brand. Good luck.

I have connected this adapter as soon as it arrived, it works nicely and supports 1080p HD, you can select the display properties from your computers settings. I have successfully connected it to my 42" LCD (LG) TV and also a projector. The only drawback is that, the plastics used for the adapter does not seem high quality compared to original Apple adapter.

Easy to use ... simply plug it into your MacBook and then to a VGA monitor or your TV (if available)!

I purchased this so I could use my MacBook Pro with my projector at the school where I teach. Works great!
