I hate ironing. So much that I would run out of work clothes mid-week. Whoops!
I finally bit the bullet and bought this fabric steamer (after reading the great reviews on here). It works great! I used it on all kinds of clothes (blouses, camis, pants, sweaters) of all different fabrics (cotton, silk, blends, rayon) and it works beautifully on all of them! The price is great too.
I wish the extended pole was longer and the water bay was bigger but on the whole I love this thing.
The steam gets really hot so be careful!

The Steamfast SF-407 1500 Watt Fabric Steamer is not too bad. For the price you get what you pay for. What I like about it is it heats up quick.....like in one minute tops and has a pretty strong flow of steam. Also the resevoir is easy to fill and convenient. It has wheels on it too which help.
What I dont like about it is it is built of nothing but plastic and it is lightweight and tends to want to tip. So most of the time I have to keep my foot on the base to keep it from tipping.
For the price though it is a decent steamer. Hope some/any of this helped.

I had been wanting a steamer for a long time - ever since I saw a TV show on one (the actual product got poor reviews on Amazon so I didn't buy that one). Finally I saw this one at an affordable price with good reviews and I am well pleased with the purchase! Yes, you do need to practice steaming (using this product) just like it took you a while to be a master-ironer but once you get a hang of it you would not be using your old iron anymore! I have lots of clothing items to steam for my family of five and every week I enjoy steaming away loads of dress shirts, pants, sweaters, dresses and more! While I am an expert shirt ironer, I never liked ironing my husband's pants and my job was nowhere near a dry-cleaner's finish but with this steamer I no longer have awkward lines and I get the crisp lines using the little press thing that came with it! The steam is gentle yet powerful so it's a beeze to steam delicate silk shirts, dresses, sweaters, and those dark shirts that always left those white iron marks! Once you get a hang of it, steaming dress shirts isn't that hard either and I do get crisp lines on the sleeves, too! The minor negatives I have are: the hose is short so you can't reach the top of your drapes, etc. anything far away without lifting the unit and the steam is powerful so if you're not careful you can burn yourself easily (but that's true for traditional irons also!).

I absolutely love this thing. I will never iron again. It's not as perfectly pressed as a iron but you cannot tell once dressed. I even use it on my 3 year olds clothes and it makes her look "perfect". I can't believe I've been ironing for so long. Heats up fast, hose gets pretty warm so I have to keep my kid away. It probably wouldn't hurt her but I don't want to chance it. It does take using on a few items to get the hang of it, but I figured out if i pull on the bottom while moving down and then up it works best.

This product works very well on wrinkles. I purchased it because I wear a lot of 100% cotton shirts and I found that steaming the wrinkles was very fast and more enjoyable than ironing. Plus steaming eliminates the 'shiny' 'stains' that ironing can cause on cotton and other fabrics.
HOWEVER, I do not recommend purchasing this item because the hose (which as far as I can tell is a heavy rubbery plastic) stinks very strongly when the steamer is heated.
I thought perhaps the smell would dissipate after a few uses but it didn't. I used the unit three times for 45 minutes to an hour and the smell was just as bad after approx. three hours of use as when it was new.
The smell was strong enough to cause headaches and sore throats. I really don't recommend this unit for households with children or pets (and especially birds). I think the off-gassing is bad enough to be harmful to one's health.
I returned the item. I have been looking for a unit that has a hose made of a different material but I have not found one. I may also try a different manufacturer such as Jiffy, but before I purchase, I will call their customer service line and find out the content of their hoses.
