My Slant Fin cost three times as much and lasted 3 years (winter use only), then I could no longer remove the knobs on the water containers (another reviewer mentioned it might be a gasket problem). This model looks exactly the same, and the water containers would even fit (IF I could ever get the knobs off!). Must be sure that water containers are securely in place or unit will not produce steam. You can barely hear a low click, that's where it's best to leave it and has brought my bedroom up to between 40-50% humidity which is supposed to be ideal (and I only run it at night). Only negative is that bright blue light. I tried to cover it with tape, not too successful but turn my back to the unit and sleep on my side. Of course the unit needs to be cleaned; I use my reverse osmosis water to extend time between cleanings but every 2 weeks is a minimum even with r/o or bottled or distilled water (I fill the center chamber full with white vinegar and leave it sit for a half hour and then use an old toothbrush if there's any build-up/scale to be cleaned out). No longer wakening up with a dry nose and throat so it's a must for me.

dual heads for extra long usage. somewhat quiet with bubbly and heating noise. the blue light is a bit too bright. had to cover it w/ tape. i assume it's a night light. capsule for vicks vapor liquid. good buy. price is finally down from $99.00. recommend.

We got this humidifier for a 400 square foot space, and it can do a good job humidifying if we keep the doors closed. The unit exhausts its rightmost tank first and then starts on the left. This is very handy if you want to keep it running. The blue ON indicator light is way too bright for a bedroom, as others have noted. We cut a piece of black masking tape about the size of a nickel and put it over the light. It could even have been a bit bigger.
The unit is not silent, by any means. Some like the soft burbling sound, but others might find it too loud for them. The unit is fairly easy to clean. Some of the grime in the corners can't be reached with a toothbrush and would need a more specialized brush. We used it for a month before cleaning it. The humidity control does not seem to be too accurate. We had to set it at the one-quarter mark to keep the humidity below 60 per cent.
On the whole, though, it is well made (the tanks fit especially well), inexpensive and effective.

I just got this because my baby is sick. The pro is that this really warms up the room and the vapor is certainly fine and effective. The cons are ONE, it is so big. TWO, the LED light is ridiculously bright. I have book piled in front of it; when I turned it to face the wall, the light still shines through the tanks in back. THREE, I put Kaz Inhalant in the reservoir three days ago. I have run this almost continuously; I have refilled both tanks about 4 times each, AND, the inhalant has not evaporated at all, nor can you smell it in the air. So, in that respect it is totally ineffective.

I'll make it short and sweet since the other reviews are really detailed. As my title stated, where's the mist? The mist output on this gizmo is SO minimal that I can hardly tell it's working.
Positive:
Nice design
Nice blue light
UV kills the bugs
Negative:
Where is my gawd damn mist? I bought this thing to get warm mist - show me the mist?
Anyway, I can't recommend this thing... maybe it's effective if I were to put the unit rt by the bed and near my end but I don't to hear bubbling sounds all night - I don't want to have a blue light shining in my eyes all night (as pretty as it is).
I say move on - find something else if you want a strong warm mist humidifier.
