 "56K modem" 2010-05-27
By Magdalena (Kansas)
I ordered this modem from cicandy and recieved it within a week. I downloaded the software and it worked great, however after a few weeks there were exposed wires that had pulled away from the modem. It still worked, but I was concerned about the long term effects. I contacted the company and they made it right.

I have had great luck ordering from amazon, but it is nice to know when there is a problem it is fixed and their are companies that still stand behind their products.

Even though this external modem was advertised as compatible for the MAC - it did not work. So I returned it

 "Excellent product!!!!!" 2010-05-16
By Michael C. Doman Sr. (Wysox PA)
I'm not very good with computers but after reading the reviews on the product I figured I would take a shot at setting up the free fax option on my new windows 7 computer. This thing is truly idiot proof. In a matter of minutes I was able to send a fax. Its much easier to use the software that comes with this modem than using the windows route. I simply plugged one end of the modem into the phone line and the other into a USB port. Then I down loaded the disk that came with the modem and followed the steps to send a fax. This is an excellent product. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

"This is a great fax modem!" 2010-05-13
By Richard A. Ahrens (Purgitsville, WV, USA)
We use a fax modem at our second home some 40 miles from the dial-up connection. We had gotten used to 18-24 Kbps connection speeds with regular loss of connection. Our first dial-up with this modem gave us 32 Kbps connection speed and we have yet to lose connection. It is an external modem and plugs in to any available USB port. It is like a dream come true!

"Worked Great with Windows 7" 2010-05-11
By Buzzman (Cape May NJ)
I hooked this up to Windows 7 and with 5 minutes I was Faxing. I bought a $2000.00 HP Desktop; who what of thought that it did not come with a modem????? Bought this on-line and what a relief. Plugged it in, I watched Windows 7 find the drivers and Windows 7 Fax Wizard took over after I clicked on My fax Machine in "Installed Devices" I did not install the disk/drivers that came with it and I don't intend to because it says it contains an internet security program from "2008" on it. I'm running Spy Doctor and Nortons so I didn't need any conflicts, and I don't want to have to buy anything. My recommendation: plug it in and see if it installs. If you're running Windows 7 you're in bussiness in 5 minutes. As far as XP, you'll have to red further for other comments. But for $40............it's Bitchin'
