By Douglas55 I reveal that I bought the next size of this device - xq12L10a - and kept it for one week and back for this unit. My complaint with the still larger unit was that I felt I lived with one or more aptly GORILLAS a Pratt and Whitney jet engine. The room where the device is installed, a studio with 11 foot ceilings, so basically what the device was purchased for the space is something the local residents at all times. For this reason, I took a gamble and decided to replace the device with this device, the 10,000 BTU xq10L10a. I found that the high fan speed the xq10L10a is about as loud as the low fan speed for a greater unity. All other things being equal, I'm very happy with this machine and can report it works perfectly and sensitively of the utmost importance to me. He is not silent, but quite acceptable for a small living room vibrate the device or rumble and the thermostat seems to do a good job. You can hear the compressor with the fan on low, but that is normal for any system of this type. Friedrich technical support is good enough - you have someone on the phone with no problem, even if it's a bit all or nothing, depending on who you talk like most of the technical assistance.
