The remote control allows you to easily change settings.The Air Cooler works by endothermic reaction (a reaction that consumes heat), so this evaporative Air Cooler sucks air through a wick saturated with water. As the air flows through the wick, some of the water evaporates into the air, consuming the heat that was in the air. An air stream is then blown out the front of the unit and is considerably cooler than the current room temperature! This is not an air conditioner and therefore uses much less energy. The unit works well in dry climates; not very effective in areas with high humidity as the unit utilizes water to cool.

It is a cooler, and it does its job very well. It works by evaporating water. Try soaking a T-shirt battled it out and submit it to wet to get power. It is not very good in wet areas, but it works fine where the air is dry. I'm in southern California, where the humidity fluctuates very strong. I put the cooler six to eight feet from my chair, and on the hottest days I'm very comfortable. Advantages: * It's about 1 / 5 the cost of an air conditioning system * operating expense is a fraction of the cost of air conditioning * nice features! Gregory cheap, very effective in low humidity has a strong fan when not using the cooling function. Timer works well. Have an oscillating function, a sleep mode, and most importantly: a drain plug, washable filter and a plastic body that can not rust like those made of metal or tin. I had a similar product a few years ago and it not to look at this and the other is almost double that price. The cooler came a day before the expected delivery date date.WOW ........ I live in California Acampo, the north of Lodi, Calif., south of Sacramento, California. The degrees outside at 5:40 pm ET of 93 degree (this is where I have my own expense), the temperature inside the house 84 degrees and my room is 72 degrees. I use a pitcher of ice water in my refrigerator to get it and ice cubes to fill in the top drawer. For those of you who are young or have not had the experience of a "swamp cooler", they tend to have a musty smell to them. I solved this problem by buying a fragrencer Glade motor oil (?). Its goal is to cut openings for heating and air conditioning clip of mine in the fridge bottem lever in lowest position and it emits a slight smell and no musty smell that is.
