An air stream is then blown out the front of the unit and is considerably cooler than the current room temperature! This is not an air conditioner and therefore uses much less energy. The unit works well in dry climates; not very effective in areas with high humidity as the unit utilizes water to cool.

Not much moisture and the weather is usually quite mild, but it gets pretty hot in summer (90 + degrees). I recently had to ride on a very hot day and I went out and grabbed a bag of ice, because I wanted to try this stuff cool. I turn next to my computer desk and turned on the cool air function. I was about 5 meters from it and within five minutes my arm was freezing cold. I was totally comfortable all day, but if I have the fan on the heat was unbearable. This thing does not cool a room, but it will cool the area immediately in front of it. When cooled a little, I emptied the water (which was very easy because the convenience of the disc) in my bathroom sink and used it that night as a normal fan. Its quite quiet and the fan is powerful. Ive heard this swamp cooler can produce a musty odor, so I am sure, make it empty of water when I'm done with the cool air, I'm just filled with water feature, if its extremely hot because the fan works fine for me most days. Not really worth the trouble by Mark Finzel To be fair, is to be a product does not claim to have air conditioning. However, it is entitled to 12 degrees cooler cool that I can not find at all. I live in a dry climate, Colorado, and yet it is barely cooler than a fan. You just have to fill up with tons of ice for just this, and it requires refilling with water and ice. If you do not clean it at least once a week, it starts to smell really bad. All these efforts are filling and cleaning is not worth the 3 to 5 degrees cooler you get. For this reason I prefer to do is plug a fan and not have to worry about every day Save your money and buy a portable air conditioner. From Logan Blenda My husband and I currently live in Germany you live on the third floor and the Germans do not believe in the central a / c. We have been here over 2 years and during the summer normally do not get very hot, but this summer. I decided to purchase this product in hopes of cooling our apartment better than a few fans ... I was sadly mistaken this device is certainly better than a fan, and if you're not sitting directly infront of you do not hear anything this sad thing puts out. It is said that for best results fill 2 / 3 water 1 / 3 of ice that makes no difference, but also have a chilling feture that it makes any difference or not. At night my husband and I sleep with three fans on this thing and only one road in and we still almost hot to sleep Besides the fact that this device is quite nice easy to fill easily look good is a remote distance and came in good time, but that's not why buy something like this so that the weight of the pros cons. My opinion would not buy this to save your money and buy a regular fans or actually more expensive to work or buy one that you put in your windows do not buy this if you really want something hot or cold air to cool an area larger than some meters will be wasting your money.
