The best feedback June 5 found this review helpful. Too expensive and a design fault with DrBeric I bought this unit air conditioner window because I wanted a quiet one small bedroom. The key word is "quiet", and this unit was probably one of the smaller units and quiet. The good part. The unit is very quiet outside. This is a great device if you do not want to disturb their neighbors. It also makes little or no "splash" sound, which is common in the window units. The bad: It has properties that should not be at this price. First comes the thermostat hear a "click" is annoying every time you turn the compressor on or off. Second, the device, in my opinion, a technical error. If there is high humidity, water leaks not only of the cooling fins (which is normal), but drawn into the air stream. The fan blows air at high velocity through an air duct polystyrene foam and into the room. Water droplets in the air flow foam struck at high speed, high and annoying "ping" sound produced, intensity and pitch of the "ping" is a function of humidity and wind speed. Ping noise out and eventually disappear as the system reduces humidity in the room. If the humidity is high, and the outdoor temperature is not too hot (common in Connecticut), the compressor is off, enough time for moisture back into space. When the compressor cycles on and cool the room again, ping again until the humidity is reduced in space again. This leads to a disturbing pattern noise, which I find unacceptable to sleep. There is no ping, if the low humidity. Thirdly, the device has a high low-frequency harmonics when the compressor is turned on first. This noise tends to disappear after the compressor run for several minutes. And fourthly, that quality is not what it should be at this price. The fan (cage) centrifuge is made of plastic, and half of one of its blades (ribs) was broken and the lack of lock, my e-mails and letters of complaint to customer service were ignored.
