This is my second purchase of one of these. I liked the first one for my bedroom, and got another for the loft where guests sleep. I can get up early in the morning to get chores done and not worry about waking the guests sleeping in the loft of the 2 story house.

I am a nurse and work twelve-hour night shifts. My neighborhood is full of screaming trampoline-loving kids, barking dogs, and I even have a dog of my own that barks at every little sound. I purchased this and I now I sleep PERFECTLY uninterrupted every day, and as an added bonus it keeps my dog from hearing the little neighborhood sounds that she loves to bark at! Totally worth the money, hands down.

I bought this exact model. There seem to be a bunch on the market that are very similar and some of 'em made by the same company. Another one had hundreds more customer reviews and this one so far only about 30 something. Don't know the differences... All I know now is this one here does exactly what I want it to and I am seriously thinking of buying another one for another room for complete sound conditioning of my place. But the other room benefits already. It is "loud" but in a good way. Reminds me of being on a plane sorta. It's the sound of rushed air, a nice warm, loud white noise sound that absorbs the intrusive noises all around. I want to create a sound shield to protect me from the noise of machines and rude, stupid sheeple.
I HATE noise. Most of us now live in a light and noise polluted world and this is very bad for us. I believe it is taking a huge toll on our quality of life and on our very health. And if you have ever lived in an apartment, my god, it is simply out of control. You have a right to peace and quite. Unfortunately (most) apartment complexes and even neighbors in your own neighborhood, if your a house owner, do not respect this. Well this little machine is one way to fight back for the peace you deserve as a human being.

I purchased this product because the reviews stated by several purchasers that this machine did a good job blocking out obtrusive noise, even on the lower fan speed. One review specifically referred to blocking out snoring which was my reason for considering this machine. My husband snores and we currently use a fan in the room for the "white noise" but wanted something that wouldn't cool down the room in the winter. The "white noise" produced by this machine on the high setting wasn't loud enough. After several nights of trying different locations for the machine, the only way I could block out his snoring was to put the machine on the bed, right next to my head with the machine on high. Needless to say, I returned this product. If you want this machine to block out snoring, I don't think this is the product for you.

This product performs as advertised. I was a bit apprehensive when ordering because I was afraid it wouldn't be loud enough to park in our hallway between four bedrooms. When you first turn it on, it doesn't sound as loud as a small fan. But it is deceptively loud (if that makes any sense). At night you will realize it is doing a fine job and it is just less harsh that a whirring fan.
An added bonus for those with small children, you won't have to worry about your little one sticking his fingers in to touch a blade. This thing looks to be child-safe. No place to stick a finger and have it lopped off.
We have gone through about four fans in four years. Hopefully this will last longer.
