I purchased the Eva-dry small dehumidifier for a closet and it works great and has solved the problem I had with dampness. Fast delivery .There was a problem with the electricial cord which had nothing to do with the company.I called them they couldnt have been nicer and promptly send a replacement. I would recommend this unit to anyone who has a dampness problem in a smaller area. And again this company has a great customer service dept so refreshing in todays market place. Eve Lewes De.

This humidifier worked great in our RV. I would empty it every 5 or 6 days, and it really kept the RV from getting musty smelling. Unfortunately, the unit conked out one month after the warranty expired. I would have expected it to last longer.

I was nervous ordering the Eva dry dehumidifier after reading mixed reviews. However, I was desperate and this device was in my price range. We live in an apartment where the master bath does not have any windows and the ventilation fan is too weak to remove the moisture. We were getting mold on the ceiling above the shower and on the walls in the bathroom. I tried leaving our bedroom window open, using Damp-Rid, and then finally bought this item.
PERFECT! We have had it for over a month and use it everyday. Some days it's left on all day long. We really like it. The mold is gone!! It really sucks up a lot of water. It's pretty quiet. I don't know why other reviewers said it was loud. We can't hear it even when we are in our room. Some times I leave it on througout the night. It removes all the moisture from the air, walls, and even our towels. We love this product.

This is a "petite" dehumdifier as described by the manufacturer. Its for small spaces. I have two inside a boat cabin, now with 8 months of continuous operation with no problems. It uses a separate power supply module (a smaller brick style similar to a laptop computer power supply). These non-compressor dehumidifiers use a thermoelectic Peltier effect module to heat and cool the air causing condensation to form on the cold side of the module, which then drips into the capture tank. Same technology used for those portable coolers that you plug into a cig lighter. See Wikipedia: "thermoelectric cooling" if you want to see the science of how this works. The only moving part is the fan.
PROS
- Small size.
- Quiet, but not silent. Like a small desk fan on low speed.
- Since the water capture tank is on the bottom, the unit is less likely to tip over with water in the tank (boat use).
- Auto shut-down when capture tank is full.
- No sharp edges.
- Tank is easy to remove, drain and replace.
CONS
- Separate power supply module.
- Small water capture tank. (minor since a large tank would defeat the "petite" concept of the unit)
PERFORMANCE
In a humid and warm closed boat cabin, the tank fills in 72 hours. An effective device to combat mold & mildew in an enclosed space. The 120VAC to 9VDC power supply module gets warm.
